Evidence of the 2007 Santiago Fire, which burned most of Whiting Ranch. Things are growing back nicely.
From the chaparral to the cool riparian canyon bottoms, Whiting Ranch has a variety of plant and animal life. We kind of unintentionally hiked a good 6+ miles, but we didn't even see the whole park. It'd be a cool place to take your bike, your running shoes or just your camera. Just watch out for mountain lions.
